Mike Malone is a retired National Park Service ranger who finished his career here in the Santa Monica Mountains. When Mike accepted his position in 1996 he found a park he came to love and stayed for 16 years. Part of that reason was his love of film history. And what better place to be, here in Hollywood's backyard. Mike has spent 20 years researching the film history of the Santa Monica Mountains and the Conejo Valley. Now that he's retired he wants to share that history with all of us.
Beginning with the era of silent movies, Mike's presentation will take us on a cinematic journey through the western Santa Monica Mountains and the Conejo Valley. This is a great opportunity for CVHS members, history buffs, and movie lovers to get together for a fun afternoon learning more about our fascinating region.
Attendance in Anderson Hall is limited. Reservations are required.
