Heritage Oak Grove

Our Heritage Oak is missed…

but in its place we have a beautiful 40 years young replacement oak and “volunteers” that sprouted from the fallen acorns of our old friend. Rustic seating created from the branches that once offered shade here provide a place to sit and enjoy the tranquil surroundings and ponder the past. Large sections of the original tree’s main trunk provide a glimpse into the life of this ancient oak from signs of fire damage to remnants of a large colony of bees that took up residence.

Learn about the magnificent tree that graced this spot for as many as two or three hundred years and see our timeline project come to life. Enjoy our video series about this beautiful Coast Live Oak and the retelling of her final days alongside the Stagecoach Inn.

Support property improvements and museum renovations by donating to our Heritage Oak Fundraising Campaign inspired by the renewal of life and growth taking place in this small grove. Contributions will be double-matched by Conejo Recreation and Parks District, turning each dollar raised into three dollars for projects onsite.
