Join us in celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month September 15 - October 15.
Our festivities begin on Saturday September 17 during regular museum hours 1:00 - 4:00 with Live Latin Music played by Jeff Linsky and interactive activities, including fiesta flower making and coffee grinding for a traditional Mexican drink recipe. Each Saturday new “hands-on history” activities will be introduced, including decorating cascarónes, carding wool for yarn, and other opportunities to experience the rich Hispanic culture of our region.
Travel back in time to the early 1800’s during the period of the Spanish land grants, and visit our adobe to learn all about what life was like on the ranchos. Traditional costumes will be on display in the Inn and our Conejo Hunt will continue throughout the property.
The evening of Friday Oct. 14, CVHS Members are invited to a Member Appreciation Fiesta featuring street tacos, live music, and a showing of Robin Hood of El Dorado (1936) on our outdoor big screen. See event page in the calendar section for tickets and information. There is still time to join and enjoy member benefits for the remainder of this year with senior memberships $30, Individuals $40, and families $50.
