NEWS OF THE WORLD-One City, One Book

In complement with Thousand Oaks Library's One City, One Book month-long series of events highlighting News of the World by Paulette Jiles, the Stagecoach Inn Museum will host a photographic display: "Thirty Years on the Conejo: Photographs from the 1870s, '80s, and '90s".

And this year Voices of Old Conejo will have a reenactment of a "newspaper reader" delivering the news of the day to the people living in the Conejo Valley in 1880.  Listen for other references to local newspapers throughout the history of our area. When did the L.A. Times start delivering their paper in Thousand Oaks? Who was the first newspaper editor? What newspaper did Egbert Newbury write for? Listen to an authentic newspaper article written by a stagecoach traveler about her journey from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles back in 1870.

Read News of the World and don't miss this exciting evening of time travel at the Stagecoach Inn Museum.
