The movie Robin Hood 1922 featuring Douglas Fairbanks was entirely made in the Conejo Valley. The movie was so popular that people came from all over to see Lake Sherwood. As a result the lake originally named Potrero Lake (also referred to as Lake Matthiessen) was renamed.
